Plotsy has raised $1.5M in seed funding, with Pier 88 Ventures writing the check. The startup is betting that books don’t have to stay books-or even become full-length films-to find a modern audience.
Plotsy’s pitch is its Plotsy vBook™, a format that turns written stories into cinematic, episodic video. The company calls the underlying process Cineversion™, a human-powered AI workflow designed to scale page-to-screen adaptations without the cost and timeline of traditional production. The round’s backer, Pier 88 Ventures, is making an early bet on that pipeline, though Plotsy hasn’t detailed how the capital will be deployed.
